If I recall, the last time ou had Wood he blew up in your faces. I'd be warey of saying that /\.

66 IP, 34 K, 34/40 SV/SVO, 3.26 ERA, 1.09 WHIP as a closer in 2008. Yeah, that was a TERRIBLE explosion.

Maybe I was thinking of how crappy he is in PP 08?

I guess so much terrible stuff has happened to the Cubs (Fukudome, Bradley, Zambrano) that Wood just doesn't qualify as an explosion anymore.

Stephen Strasburg will hopefully get a chance to sign this year. I guess the big question is, after the Tommy John surgery, is he better or worse?

The Cubs just got Matt Garza and 2 minor leaguers, but we gave up Chris Archer, Brandon Guyer, Robinson Chirinos, Hak-Ju Lee and Sam Fuld! I'm not so sad about Fuld, but the other four are all among our best prospects. If they turn out to be superstars and/or Garza's a bust, I'm going to get really upset about this! Then again, Garza's young and his stats seem pretty consistent. I guess we needed someone just in case one of the 4 question marks in our rotation (Zambrano, Silva, Wells, Gorzellany) doesn't pan out. Speaking of that, it frees up the Cubs to trade one of their starters. I'm hoping there's a chance we could get back some young talent to replace some of what we gave up.

I hope the Brewers can pull it out this year. Last year they played bad. Now they have a good pitcher, and they've had good offense the past few years. Anyway, should someone start a 2011 season thread?
