What kind of things are in the Wii Shop Channel?
How do you get points for it?

1) New channels for DL (Check Mii Out, Nintendo Channel, etc.)

2) old-school NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, TG16 games for DL

3) New Wii Ware games (new games specifically made for DL on the Wii)

To get points you can purchase point cards from retailers (2000 pts for $20) or you can buy points directly through the the Shop channel with a credit/debit card.

The Wii shop channel includes lots of older games that were on older nintendo consoles such as the original mario games

points are obtained by paying with your credit card or with a Wii shop points gift card that can be bought at places like wal-mart or target and gaming store like gamestop

The only Virtual Console (VC) game I've bought so far is the old NES Super Mario Bros 3. Good fun for $5 (500 points). I just bought the points right there on the Wii Shop channel, you have to buy them in $10 (1000 point) increments. I think the retail card is a standard $20 (2000 points) rather than coming in different amounts.

I downloaded a bunch of the old games, and the Mii channel. I wish they would include songs for Rockband, but that is the one suck thing about the Wii. Have to get an XBOX for that one.

Well, they're actually releasing a 20 song pack retail disc for PS2 and Wii coming up soon; but yeah, not exactly the same thing at all really.

Oh really? What songs are on the disc?

I think most if not all of these songs are on X Box. I guess it is better than nothing.
