Before I start I would like to state the obvious: don't include powerpros, if I didn't know about it I wouldn't be on this forum :P

I'm wondering what kind of games you people here like.
Here are some of the things I'm looking for:

1. The name of the game.
2. What kind of people you would recommend it to.
3. Your personal rating out of 10
4. A short review involving some of the gameplay and storyline (if any).
5. The console(s) it's for and the prices.

I'll add more if I think of anything else.

Well I have Mario Kart Wii and it got boring quick. As for Call of Duty, I already have a different game from the genre, every FPS is the same to me.

1. No More Heroes

2. Mature Gamers

3. 7.5/10

4. It's a Hack-em-up game where you run around a city, in GTA fashion, as a young guy named Travis Touchdown (yeah corny). The story is convoluted and sometimes just plain weird. The thing is, it's meant to be that way. Game play is pretty addictive and there are a pretty good number of extras to play for. If you can get past the campy story line and take it for what it is, it's a really good and fun game.

5. Wii only
Price: $50

1. Burnout Paradise

2. Everyone

3. 8/10

4. It's just like any other Burnout you've played (if you have of course) with the main premise to drive around and cause as much mayhem as you can to pass various missions such as pure racing, knockout, time trials, stunts and others. It's another addictive game that will get hours and hours of play.

5. Xbox 360 & PS3

Price: $60

An of course Super Mario Galaxy. I'm Sure you've got that one.

Out of the Park Baseball - A fun, realistic baseball simulation experience. The game has no pretty graphics like you would see from MLB Front Office Manager, but the game, ultimately, overcomes that with detail down to the rookie leagues and beyond (you can set up High School/College Feeder Leagues, or even create an International Baseball League). I recommend this game to anybody who wants a challenge and to have fun. Remember, you can start your dynasty anywhere from 1876 to current date. In OOTP9, you're limited to 1901 and beyond.

If you are interested, please keep in mind that OOTPX (10) is due for release early May, which makes buying OOTP9 moot. In the meantime, you can try the demo of OOTP9 to see if you like the series: demo (note, live link - will begin the download process)

Out of the Park Baseball Version 5 (fictional players) can be downloaded here. This version is outdated, but it is a great way to see if you like the franchise before spending 29.99 on pre ordering OOTPX. Simulation times since then have improved greatly and it will no longer take ages to get through a single season, keep that in mind. Also, OOTP also has the ability to use real players and teams, so don't get scared off by version 5.

EDIT: I forgot to include, you can control the development of players like Lars Anderson, Clay Bucholz and many more in the OOTP series more so than its number one competitor Baseball Mogul. You decide when to call them up, how to use them and they ultimately progress/congress based on YOUR decisions. Oh, and every player, even in the Rookie Leagues, IS A REAL PLAYER!!!!!!!

Great snowboarding game. A little hard to jump into, but you get the hang of it, and the soundtrack is fantastic, with bands like Audioslave (Gasoline), Incubus (Anna Molly), and Three Days Grace (Animal I Have Become).
Some of the characters are stupid ("Zazz?" Come on... Don't get me started about Mike.), but the gameplay is fantastic, and the different challenges provide decent depth.
Wii, $50 (I think, It might have dropped)

Rock Band 2
Everyone
9.5/10
Fantastic. The World Tour mode is up to par with the Xbox and PS3 versions, and the downloadable content (songs) are great, both of them unlike the first Wii version. The songs that come w/ the game are great too, with mainstream hits including Spoonman (from Soundgarden), Ace of Spades (Motorhead), and some not so popular but still awesome songs, like E-Pro (Beck, was played in a commercial for "I Love You, Man" recently), Lazy Eye (Silversun Pickups), and Master Exploder (Tenacious D, sort of a hit).
Wii, $50 for game alone, $80 (I think) w/ guitar, $150 for complete set.

MX Superfly
Everyone
8.5/10
Best motocross (motorcycle racing and tricks, on dirt) game on the console. Dozens of riders, Dozens of actual places to race, and dozens of tricks. The career mode isn't especially deep, but it's worth it. The last race in Las Vegas is incredibly fun, try a double backflip on one or two of the ramps. A bit outdated (2002), but totally worth it, especially at this price. Go Chad Reed!
Gamecube, $5-$10 if you can find it.

Rune Factory Frontier
Masochists, those with patience, people who enjoy hard menial labor, Zelda fans
8.5/10
If any of you have ever played Harvest Moon, the Rune Factory series is a spin-off of that. It's Harvest Moon on steroids. Whereas the Harvest Moon games typically aren't deep or complicated, RFF changes that. Characters are deeper, there's a dungeon/combat aspect to it, different weapons... It's pretty cool. The old Harvest Moon aspects remain, as well. Farming, having your choice of different bachelorettes to marry, becoming friends with people... That sort of thing. If you stick with it, you can probably expect a lot of hours out of the game.
Wii, $50, I think

MLB 09: The Show
Baseball fans, obviously
8.0/10
I'm sure SOMEbody here has to have played this. We're not all PS2/Wii owners, I'm sure. Basically, we all know The Show is superior to any MLB 2k game (by which I mean MLB 2k8, MLB 2k9, etc.), but after having played The Show since the 06 iteration, I'm not as thrilled with it anymore as I used to be. There are glaring problems the team hasn't bothered with and that have been present for years. Many pitching animations are ridiculously inaccurate (Power Pros, despite all its outward simplicity, generally gets them right a lot more than The Show), the commentary is archaic compared to MLB 2k9's, and so on, but the biggest offender is Road to the Show. I loved this mode in 07. Now I don't really care for it at all. The on-the-field stuff? It's great. It's awesome being able to solely play a position, do only your at-bats, etcetera. Off the field, in the menus? Terrible. The method for raising abilities is awful, especially compared to Power Pros' My Life mode. What makes it awful is the ridiculous manager demands, which are completely aburd and senseless at times and penalize you for things out of your control. How the team continues to screw up this part of the game is beyond me, but it comes off looking like lazy programming because they know everyone hates MLB 2k and prefer their product. The gameplay itself, though, like said, is fun enough to warrant an 8 from me. But I might not bother next year if some things aren't overhauled.
PS3 version: $60, also for PS2 and PSP

People that would be able to do a lot of multiplayer or if your really into physics.

8/10

Basically you do various things with block towers(knock down in a certain amount of throws, remove as many blocks as you can without have it fall down, etc.) There's a story mode with 5 different individual stories that's pretty good. It took me about 6-7 hours to complete. There's also a mode that doesn't involve side-stories that took about 6 hours but I didn't get gold on everything. There is a level creator where you can make your own towers and such. The multiplayer is in my opinion the best part of the game. It's got a bunch of air-hockey like stuff that's pretty fun. If you would be able to do a lot of multiplayer I would reccomend it. If not then I wouldn't buy it unless you're big on physics. I had to return it because my siblings hated it(not really sure why, my brother insisted it was extremely unrealistic.....which it's definitly not) and thus couldn't do hardly any multi-player.

$40(I think...) Wii
