Yeah, if you were in September with the 40 man roster. There's only so many spots on the roster, you can't fit em all in. Why rotate Joba? Especially if Pettite is signed?

I wouldn't sign Pettite, you already have a great rotation, put Joba in rotation that way he gets more time as a starter, he should be a future starter.

He'll be the number 4, and Pettite the 5. Why not sign pettite? Hughes isn't ready, it's a one year bridge.

Because AJ isn't durable and is injury prone. Wang appears to be a durable pitcher, just definetly not a durable hitter, but I don't think he could do that. They are being as cautious as possible and limiting Joba's innings this year. CC could, but that's it haha.

They could set, for example, an absolute 100-pitch limit on each pitcher, and take them out as soon as they reached the limit. Then they could turn to the bullpen.

Well remember Hughes has to learn to start eventually and with the Yankees getting older, maybe it would be better for him to start on occasion and see how he does.
