Pilgrims? You mean the Red Sox? That wasn't that good of a World Series, nothing was out of the ordinary.

They weren't the Red Sox, they were the Pilgrims. Nothing out of the oridinary? It was the first world series, yea no big deal.

It was played from the 1st of October, until I believe the 13th. AND they came back down 3-1

That's impossible, there were 9 game world series. The world series was an average, regular world series, what made it significant was that it was the first. It wasn't really the best world series by any means though. That's interesting about the pilgrims, I never knew that. Good digging.

They came down from 3-1 to win it 5-3. Let's see, the first world series:
I also think they were the Americans, not Pilgrims

win
loss
hit
run
home run
strike out
walk
HBP
single
double
shutout
list goes on and on.

Ah, sounds like a good one, but I still wouldn't put it in any contention for the best. Each to his own. We both gotta try and stop these 2-person conversations on other people's threads mate. To respond to your next post without continuing the converstation ,my top 3 would include but aren't limited to:
2001
1998 Yankees
1986. Red Sox v. Mets.
1991. Braves v. Twins.
Two teams that went from worst to the world series in one year
1975 Cincinnati Reds vs. Boston Red Sox
1961 New York Yankees Vs. Reds
1998 New York Yankees
1939 New York Yankees
I did a lot of research and based this on pass knowledge before I chose my top 10.
1927 New York Yankees Just because I think it or 1998 was the best line up of all time. Not just Yankees, but all time. You got Tony Lazzeri, Earl Combes, Babe Ruth, Lou Gherig, Bob Meusal, not to mention a very strong pitchers rotation. I heard the Red Sox team on Sunday being refered to murders row. I know they weren't comparing them, but you think that's murder's row! Going through a line up like this would be seriously a living hell. Now imagine facing this team in Coors Field. What a nightmare!

The thread is about "Your Favorite" WS, not about the "best" or "most important" world series. If you didn't watch the game, feel the emotion of the game, or read each play by play of the game, then I don't really think you should count it as your favorite.

Of course, who am I to disagree with anyone's opinion?

These world series are, with the exception of a few, all world-series I have read about in various books. The 1927 Yanks wasn't so much the world series as the players I loved from reading about them, although I did enjoy the play-offs. 1998 New York Yankees and 1939 New York Yankees I did read about as well, more specifcally the world series. 1975 Cincinnati Reds vs. Boston Red Sox I just liked as a Yankee fan as it was another failure by the sox. 1991. Braves v. Twins World Series I watched a game from (not when it was live, 15-18 years later). 2001 Yanks Vrs. D-Backs and 1986. Red Sox v. Mets. I've seen more then once for some games when I'm bored and watching TV. I loved those series. I've seen plenty of games from the 1998 Yankees and I did see most of the world series. I loved that team and I wish I watched baseball back then as I missed out on an incredible team. Yes, I am a baseball-nut.
