Effect

Are we sure about the power boost? The feeling I get from playing the game is that Pull hitter only affects the tendency of the direction the ball is hit - as in a later timing still results in pulling the ball. In that sense it's nothing like the opposite of Push Hitter. --Odawali 16:50, 14 March 2008 (CDT)

I usually don't use guys with Pull Hitter, but because it's red/blue - I think that the red part restricts ability to go the other way, and late-timed pull hits won't be good ones - but the blue parts make usual pull hits (early ones with guys without the ability) more powerful. Just a hunch, but it's realistic.--J-Gao 17:11, 14 March 2008 (CDT)
If you usually don't use guys with Pull Hitter, where did you get this idea? IF there were a power boost, wouldn't that make it a BLUE ability? If the timing cursor is simply shifted to the pull side, that sounds like a neutral ability. Let's compare the descriptions of Pull Hitter and Push Hitter:
Pull Hitter - Hits often to the same side he bats from
Push Hitter - Good at hitting to the opp. field
Hitting often to a certain side is not the same as good at hitting to a certain direction. The former implies a tendency (neutral), while the latter implies a boost (blue/positive).--Odawali 04:15, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
I don't believe there's any power boost. As for the negative side, I think it makes sense that it restricts the control you have of putting the ball in play where you want it (ex. Timing to hit the ball up the middle may still pull the ball due to the increase in margin of error.) --Mrsims31 05:25, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
I compared it to real life. But going with your ideas, where does the positives fit in? As far as I can tell, it just makes your guy hit more to one side. But sparkplug is blue/red also, and it's positives and negatives are much more well-defined.--J-Gao 17:26, 15 March 2008 (CDT)
The positive of pulling the ball is the shorter distance to the fence. The deepest parts of the park are in center field. --Mrsims31 05:05, 16 March 2008 (CDT)
It's neither good nor bad. Hence a neutral ability that shows up as Blue/Red on the ability screen.--Odawali 23:37, 18 March 2008 (CDT)
