R Wilshere is a bit of an experiment player created by Aabra. The objective was to create a player with a *lot* of blue abilities since in season mode they're virtually impossible to acquire. The main idea is you leave him more or less as he is during his first season and let him bat .200 or so. Then, you resign him to a long term deal for extremely cheap... train up his contact hitting and then reap the benefits for 5 years. It wasn't a complete success and maybe I should have left some of his other stats lower to make him that much cheaper as well as get rid of the Star ability but he's still a very fun character. He's also very flexible as he can play Shortstop (principal), 3rd Base, or 2nd base.
Slight update on this.... unfortunately while simming through a season this character has managed to maintain a batting average over .400! This is with an E contact rating! I might have to rethink my strategy a little bit. :-)
