Referencing Abilities to Events

Just an idea to throw around... what do you guys think about adding the areas of success mode where the ability can be obtained? Maybe at the bottom of each ability's page, after the description ? --Mrsims31 19:52, 19 February 2008 (CST)

I like it. Showing what random/key events have a possibility of giving you the ability. Also if you can acquire it through a girlfriend, item, or piece of equipment. It would especially help for the more unknown abilities like Rally Hitter. --Aabra 21:08, 19 February 2008 (CST)
Go ahead, you're just referencing Specific Abilities to Specific Events, right? As long as the page doesn't get squashed, you should be ok. --MaxDSterling 21:44, 19 February 2008 (CST)
Now that 2008 is coming out, I'm disliking this format. After several releases of the series, how to acquire an ability in a specific version of the game becomes less and less relevant to a description about the ability. For example this is what the Gyroball page will be like in a few years going by the current format.--Odawali 02:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Blue Abilities

I was wondering why the ability good morale wasn't in the abilities section, also I didn't see good rain, good day game and the opposites of them. Is there a reason why there not in there or did people forget to put it in? Is it because their blue abilities?--RyRy5 16:04, 1 March 2008 (CST)

Probably because they aren't all obtainable in Success Mode - good morale is, though. --J-Gao 16:26, 1 March 2008 (CST)

How do you get Gd Morale in Success Mode. I never came across it. If someone tells me how, I will test it in Success Mode and may consider adding it to the abilities section. Happy Trails!--RyRy5 17:50, 1 March 2008 (CST)

Going to start reformatting these to be similar to how the Gyroball was done. rsoohoo 17:24, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm against the methods of acquisition section altogether (see above), but if you're going to do it anyway, in my opinion it should be a written description. The abbreviated format ex (Date) Becky/Park/Challenge is for quick referencing purposes. I think this is where encyclopedias and strategy guides differ.--Odawali 02:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Maybe just Source the guide, so they're cross referenced. We are just quoting the guide. --rsoohoo 05:58, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Purple "Abilities"

I think the following pages should to be removed (or merged with the red abilities they cure) because they aren't real abilities that a player can have. There're just the names of remedies available on the Success Mode's ability boost screen.

Be_Safe, Believe, Prepare, Pressure's_On, Relax, Restrain, Prepare

--Odawali 10:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

We can mention these under the ability that they fix, or have these pages redirect to the ability they fix. --rsoohoo 18:18, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Right, that's what I meant by merging.--Odawali 01:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

More Detailed Catagories?

Anybody for or against deepening the catagories for the abilities? IE Abilities:Red, Abilities:Redblue, Abilities:Blue, etc? --rsoohoo 18:21, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm for it but should we go with color or positive/negative/neutral, etc? I also think there should be a separate category for the 5-scale abilities, because for example Clutch Hit in itself is neither positive or negative, it can be either.--Odawali 01:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, negative positive neutral, possibly another sub catagory for "Success" mode skills (purple, yellow, etc), or AI skills. --rsoohoo 16:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Reusable for 2008?

From the looks of the screen shots of 2008, it looks like most of the abilities will be reused from 2007, meaning we can probably reuse this entire section for the 2008 game. --rsoohoo 18:27, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Except stuff that pertains only to 2007 Success Mode, like how to acquire abilities.--Odawali 01:07, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, there are a couple ways to organize for this, we can simply put on the ability pages themselves, details about any differences between 2007 2008 version, including how to get them in the different games. This seems like the most reasonable way to do things, as there isn't more then a page of info for any of the abilities. --rsoohoo 16:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
