This character was more of an experiment, of how low i could possibly get a character into the majors, and the lowest possible salary, which is 380. He's modeled after Marvin (looks, number, center field position) from Success mode. He is pretty much a gag character, i intended for him to either sit on a bench, or use him as a test case in batting practice modes  And yes, this is a real character. He has the lowest possible stats i could muster, and the only "good" ability he has is "gd morale," which may affect the team even if he's a bench warmer. There are a couple more red abilities i could have gotten, but didn't spend the time to save/load for.

Position: LF, #70

Notable Stats:
Power: 0 (G)
Trajectory: 1
All Fielding Abilities: 1 (G)
Contact: 1 (G)

Abilities:
Clutch Hit 1
Free Swinger
Durability 2
Error Prone
Good Morale

While the character is anything but impressive, I am baffled as to how you even completed success mode with him.

Spent most of the success story trying to injure myself, fail dr goodjob operations, not practice, and avoid any ability gains. I probably could have just used Willy, but the Rookie charm + Alvin was more then enough to get to the MLB Superstar game. I'm pretty used to hard mode, trying to do this without the rookie charm or willy would be a pretty big challenge.

With gd morale, this guy could be the Jack Haley of Power Pros.

Remember him? From the San Antonio Spurs.

Jack Haley will be best be remembered for being in an Aerosmith video and for the role he played on the '95- '96 Bulls team as Dennis Rodman's drinking buddy. Didn't he only play in one game that year for some thing like 5 minutes?

I think the Marvin/ Jack Haley comparison is pretty accurate.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure the only reason he was on the roster was because Dennis Rodman had it in his contract to keep him on the team. If you want Dennis (the best rebounder of all time) on the team, then you gotta have Jack.

I used to love watching Rodman play. No basketball skill whatsoever, but still the most athletic guy on the court.

Ahh.....brings back memories.
When basketball used to be exciting to watch.
Players actually hustled.

That's hilarious :)

It'd be fun to see what Marvin looks like at the end of 10 years of practice in Season Mode for comparison.

I know, we should make the "MARVIN CHALLENGE"

Take a team of 25 Marvins, and trudge into season mode. After 10 years, the team with the most WS rings is the winner.

No trading or draft picks (dump 'em in AAA and leave 'em).

Player improvement is allowed, if not encouraged. (if you can win WS titles with this team as is, you are either a wicked video game freak or you save/reload after every freaking game).

Are we allowed to use any pitchers we want?

I should say NO! but considering how insanely impossible it would be... "pitcher" Marvins would have to have slightly better, but significantly below average abilities (E-F) in stam/ctrl/top speed and a level 1 breaking pitch. I wouldn't handicap him so the team couldn't possibly beat a little league squad.

Remember, everyone on the squad seriously blows. Low stats (perhaps not all of them as klutzed out as this one) and as many red abilities as you can muster (Gd Morale the lone exception). Pitchers are all weak middle-reliever types.

I call it a challenge. Can you string together enough "lucky" games with a squad of misfits to magically get yourself to a championship? Great... it's a movie plot (Marvin goes to the Majors).

And you get to pick your league (NL doesn't sound like a bad bet :P).
