Hey "peeps", how've you guys been? Wanted to ask some questions and wanted your opinions... I just bought a lot of 5 Powerful Pro Yakyu Super Famicom games on eBay... Got '94, 2, 3, '96, and '98... That's right, a Super Nintendo game published in 1998! (Japanese had a longer run with the system than we did in America). Wanted to ask ya'll: What do you think of the success mode in these installments (I heard it didn't start until around the third game), what do you think of the gameplay in these early installments?

I don't know if any of us here have ever played any of those games.

Got 'em at a fair deal so I bought them. LOL. Only $11.50 for all of em... I had to kinda do some work on my SNES to get Japanese Super Famicom games to work on there...

I bet they're fun though...

Plus for that price, why not? :)

I saw in YouTube videos that the catcher controls where the pitch goes. You move the glove (On the top of the screen) to a position and the pitch is thrown where ever you put the glove at... Definitely looks more challenging than let's say MLB version... I'll have a review for all of you when I get them in. They definitely look fun though.

2009 had you doing that too, it takes a little while to get used to since the pitches are mirrored for the cathcer's perspective.

Pretty cool tho

I mean this version looks almost split screen. It's like you have to keep track of where the glove on the top part of the screen is going as well as be able to move the dpad in the spot quickly enough on the bottom part of the screen to actually hit the ball...

Sorry for the double post, but the first installment is included as well in this lot and also doesn't have Success mode in it either. The second one did I think, I'll have to look that up and see though.

Alright I got them in the mail today in a nice brown cardboard box... All in pretty decent shape, popped them into the modded Super Nintendo and they're all in working order looks like! XD!!! AWESOME!!! I can tell, I'm fixing to have HOURS of fun with these... Success mode will be difficult since I can't read worth of crap in Japanese. I can speak some though, but I can't read it... Looks interesting. In the next few days, I will be making screenshots of the game and maybe uploading some footage on YouTube for everyone to see.

Hey now, that's pretty awesome! I've gotta say, I much prefer the Japanese success modes, even though I can't read shit, heheh

Nice to see another member enjoying them

Whoops, didn't know this thread went all the way down... Yep, I'm working on recording some footage from my VCR and gonna reinstall my converter so people can see on the website. Hopefully I can get Success Mode going in #3... Just life's been very very busy... very very busy...
