This wasn't a very good month for the Golden Eagles. They finished the month 12-19-1 in 5th place. The Eagles have picked up two new players though, Tomura and Hoshi. The Eagles hope that they do well throughout the season, and make it to the playoffs.

Today was a well fought game that went down to the wire. In the final inning, the Eagles scored 2 runs and got the bases loaded. Uchimura then hit a deep fly ball, and the man on third tried to score but got thrown down trying to tag.

I will be doing real pics of the players for a little while because I can't really get a clear shot of the TV because I can't get up because of my foot. Tell me if I should keep doing this. I also didn't get # of RBI's this game. I will get them next game. And you can look at previous post to see how much our guys have now.

I don't know if the Eagles fans like pitching duels, but they sure do get a lot of them. Shiomi pitched a great eight innings, and Rasner came in to get the save. The only spark of offense came in the fifth inning. Uchimura got an RBI single up the middle.

The Eagles struck first in the first inning, off back-to-back doubles by Hijirisawa and Matsui to make it one to nothing. The Bay Stars took the lead in the fourth inning off of two RBI hits by Ishikawa and Kinjoh. In the sixth inning, pitcher, Miura, hit a single over the second baseman for an RBI. That would not have happened, but third baseman Kusano got an error.To start the bottom of the eighth inning, Hijirisawa hit a LONG triple off the top of the center field wall. Matsui then hit a SAC fly to bring him in. The final run came in the top of the ninth, by Nomura, a pinch hit double came out of it. 4-2 Bay stars was the final.

May in Review

I didn't think that the Eagles could do any worse than last month, but they did exactly that. They finished the month going 8-15-1 remaining in 5th Place. That added on to their total record which is 20-34-2. That would make the team's winning percentage .370. T. Hoshi who we thought would be dominating by now, is doing OK, but doesn't get run support. That explains his seven losses with a 3.45 ERA (which is a good ERA). Tomura is doing OK. He leads the team in batting average which is NOT good, because his batting average is only .273. That explains how bad this team really is...

Eagles struck first in this one, by getting a homer from Yamasaki in the fourth inning. The Carp tied it though in the sixth getting an RBI single from Hirose. The Eagles got the bases loaded in the eighth, and took advantage. two RBI singles from Yamasaki and Kasuno. Rasner then came in for the save, and shut them down, 3-1 the final.
