Samurais Return Blow

Yamanote Stadium, Sakai, Osaka – Well, it was expected the Samurais would come out guns blazing in this second game after the Knights gave them their 5th loss of the season. Pitching coach Ryan Techer was handed the loss “I let up the 2 runs. Bummer, huh?” He said.

The Knights were surely in the game the whole way through; even after it was blown open in the 4th with a GRAND SLAM by the pitcher, Hirabayashi, who is probably the best hitting pitcher in the Central League, to be fair. Right after that, though, the Knights would answer with a 2 RBI double by Reiza and a 2 run homerun to tie it up by Kurihara.

The Samurais have someone to really watch, their shortstop, Mikihiko Shimazaki, who’s on an absolute tear this season. He’s batting .442 and hit his 29th homerun (only behind Kurihara for the NPB lead) and his NPB leading 66th RBI. “Kurihara’s great, no doubt about it. But there’s going to be a new homerun king, and it’s going to be me.” He said.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Taiga Kura reached for his pocket to get his buzzing phone.

"Yo" he said
"Yo, Kura, wanna hit the city tonight?" Oda's voice responded
"What, like, right after the game?"
"Yeee"
"Sounds like a plan, my dude."
"Awesome."

He tapped the end button and made his way to his chill station--the fridge in his hotel room.
"Aw man," he sighed "all they got is water."
He closed the soda and alcohol filled fridge and moved over to the bed.
He proceeded to look at his phone and his twitter for three hours.

(STEALING YOUR IDEA NICKY BECAUSE IT'S SO CLEVER)

What genius did it hold?

"Nice win everyone." Manager Kensou Mori said after the Knights beat the struggling Swallows.
"My dude, lovin' the doubles." Kura priased the player to his right, Masato Kurihara
"Hahah, thanks Kura."

After showering and putting on their 'swaggin' street clothes, Taiga Kura and Koyato Oda met up in front of Kura's locker.
"Hey, you ready?" Oda inquired
"Hell yeah, man." Kura responded
"Don't you two stay out too long, alright." Manager Mori stated
"We won't, skip."
"Good."
(They totally were going to stay out too long)
The two hopped on the bus, and headed into Tokyo.

"Ah, Tokyo. Been a while since I've been here, you know?" young Kura said to the sky with his arms stretched
"Taking it all in, eh?" Oda said
"Yeah dude."
"Well, uh, what should we do?"
"What should we do?! The hell kinda question is that, man?"
"A legitimate one."
"Er, you're right. I have no clue."

Kura and Oda ended up walking around and wound up in the Odakyu Department store.
A young girl walked up to the two of them
"oh my goodness, Kura and Oda!" she squealed
"How ya doing?" Kura said with a soft smile
"Hey there." Oda said right after with a smile just as soft
"Could you two sign my hat? Pleeeeease?"
"For sure, girly." Oda quickly responded
Oda pulled out a sharpie, a black one, and wrote his name on her hat.
"Damn, Koyato, you got some ugly handwriting." Kura jabbed
"Oh, shut up, man. It's better than yours."
"Yeah, sure."

Kura bent down to sign her hat and he signed it majestically. A perfect set of strokes and beautiful calligraphy. Oda was completely blown away, as was the young girl. He topped it off with a number 1. "There you go, sweetie." He said while placing the now signed hat on her head. Three pats to her head.

"Thank you!" she said and quickly ran off to her mother.

"Holy- Kura, I didn't know you wrote so well." Oda said, dumbfounded
"Heh" was all he said as he looked past Oda

Behind Oda was Cafe Troisgros, a small French cafe.
Sitting in one of the cafe's green booths was a 19 year old girl.
"Holy shit, man." Kura muttered
"What? What?" Oda was confused
"Dude. Look. Loooook."
Kura pointed to the window of Troisgros
"What is it, man?"
"Dude. Look at her."
"Wh- Ohhhh, shit man."
"I'm gonna go talk to her."
"You sure, man?"
"Hell yes."
"Ight, good luck, man. I'll just be in here. Let me know how it goes, my dude."

Kura straightened up, combed his hair and made his way over to Troisgros.

Surely if she sees his majestic handwriting, she'll be interested.

We rejoin our young hero, Kura, as he makes his way over to Cafe Troisgros.
Kura put his hand through his hair, and made his way over to a vibrant green booth occupied by a single girl.

When he got in her vicinity, he pulled out his wallet, "dropped" it and continued walking.
He then checked his back pocket.
"Oh, crap." He said and turned around
He saw where his wallet was and went back to pick it up.

He noticed the girl motioning to pick it up
"Oh shit, what if she steals it..." he thought, quickly followed up by "oh wait, I've only got 300 Yen in there."
He quickened his pace and grabbed the wallet which was now in her hand.

"K-Kura?" she said
He, very coolly, put his finger over his lips and motioned over to her table.
They walked over.
"Are you Kura?"
He gave her a smile, "that would be me, missy. Hey, thanks for picking up my wallet by the way."
"O-oh, you're welcome. But, uh, why are you sitting with me?"
He looked down at her sandwich and then back at her.
"Well, you caught my eye. And you caught my wallet too, heh. What's your name?"
"Uh--Yui. Yui Minamisawa."
"What a lovely name for an equally lovely girl."
She swooned, and Kura was feeling pretty good about himself.
"B-but," she stuttered, probably starstruck (Kura thought), "why are you talking to me?"
"You picked up my wallet, I was brought up to show kindness to those who've shown me the same." He smiled again, "I'll pay for your meal."
"Oh, well, thank you then."

Kura waited for her to finish up eating, chatting all-the-while.

The waiter came over and handed Yui the check, he looked at Kura too.
He gave him a simple stare, his expression never changing, and simply turned around and walked away.

"Hunh, it looked like he hated me." Kura said
Yui laughed, "maybe he's just jealous."
"Oh yeah," Kura chuckled himself "you think so? haha."

Kura reached for the check
"¥2500" it read

"Shit," Kura thought to himself "I only have 300 yen."

Flashbaaaaaaack

"Oh yeah, man, I still owe you 5000 yen. Here you go." Oda handed Kura a ¥5000 note
"Thanks, my dude."

Kura put it in his back-left pocket, and they left for the bus.

That's it

"Oh yeah!" Kura's eyes lit up and he reached for his back pocket, shifting his weight to the right side.
He put his hand in and fumbled around for the ¥5000 note.
He pulled it out.
"Heheh, all I have is a ¥5000 bill. Uh... Do you have any change for it?"
(Note: Tipping is considered rude in Japan)
"Oh, you're hopeless, Kura." Yui chuckled and went to grab 2500 yen to give to Kura. She gave him two ¥1000 yen notes and a ¥500 coin
"Thank you, Yui."

Kura put down the 2500 yen and the waiter picked it up
"Thank you for your service." He said

Kura handed Yui one of the ¥1000 notes she gave him back
"Thank you for such a nice conversation." He said
He got up, and left the cafe

Yui turned the note over and saw his phone number on it.

"So, how'd it go, man." Oda asked
"I think I did pretty well." he said as he put Oda's sharpie back in his pocket

like a boss.. Kura is the million-yen man.

So, he's worth about ten thousand dollars?

sure, whatever ya feel like.

In which case, he is worth 124,997 Mexican Pesos.

Oh, but of course. Or Euros, if you prefer. Quetzals, maybe?
