Nah, I don't think he will, he's only at 59 with a month or two to go...

KURA

Image – Taiga Kura

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – Taiga Kura came through big time against the Hawks in last night’s game. Down 3-2 in the 7th, Kura, who has been struggling all year and has recently moved to the 9 spot in the lineup, came up to bat. On the second pitch, a curveball down and in, he turns on it, hitting it over the wall, giving the Knights a 5-3 lead! “Yeah dude, I’m pretty pumped about that. I’ve been really letting everyone down, especially myself, this year. So I needed that.” He said

Jian Shen did well in his spot start for Maeda, too, going 7 strong and letting up 3, while striking out 6.

That's a hilarious name.

I've seen MLB transfers in '12 named Dick and Foot before.

Good Knight

Image – Kurihara breaks his own record, blasting his 63rd homerun of the season!

Blue Stadium, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto – Well, that’s all folks. The Knights finish the season at an astounding 97-41-4. Last night’s game could’ve really gotten out of hand quick, since Maeda was far from his usual self, letting up 5 runs in the first 3 frames, accounting for the shortest start of his career. “I did very poorly. This isn’t what I was traded here for.” He said in his postgame interview. Jian Shen again saved Maeda’s hide, coming in and shutting the door, pitching for the rest of the game and letting up only 2 hits. In the 6th inning.

But, by far the biggest news of the night is, unsurprisingly, attributed to Kurihara. On a meatball right down the heart of the plate, Kurihara cranked one to left-center. So far, in fact, it bounced off of the scoreboard. What’s so special about this? Well, Kuri broke HIS OWN record by hitting his 63rd homerun of the season. This young stud currently is sitting pretty in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the top single season homerun list of all time. Let’s make sure to note that he’s played for four years.

Yeah.

Well, we here at Kyoto Knightly will be seeing you all next season. Best of luck to the Knights in the playoffs!

- Takaharu Sonada
