I was being sarcastic. You forgot to put up the score.

Toyada, now a Tiger

Koshien Stadium, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo - The Tigers have reached an agreement with the Yomiuri Giants, sending Kentaro Sekimoto to the Giants for Kiyoshi Toyoda. Hopefully Kiyoshi will provide some solid stuff to a struggling bullpen.

July 30

"Allen, get down here now!" the owner screamed into my ear on my cell phone
"What, why?" I asked
"No questions, come here. Now!"
"Bu-"
He hung up.
I immediately left, and rushed to the stadium.
I went to the owners office.
He looked both nervous, and anxious.
"Jack," he said "I've just been informed that your brother has gone into surgery."
"What?! Why?!"
"He was hit by a car."
I was shocked, everything was spinning, I went to the hospital, and asked about my brother, Joe. I wasn't even aware he was in Japan.
I got up to his room, and saw that he had just come out of surgery, luckily everything was fine, just a very badly broken leg.
I asked him about why he was in Japan.
"Jack, I was going to surprise you."
"About what?" I asked him
"Dude, I'm getting married."
"Awesome! When, or well, obviously after you're okay, but when?"
"It was supposed to be next month, but, eh, guess not."
"Well, good for you man."
My phone rang. I picked it up and it was the owner.
"You comin' to the game today?" He asked me
"Oh, yes sir, I'm on my way."
I hung up, said bye to Joe, and left for the stadium once again.

A good offensive day
Image - Kodai Sakurai

Koshien Stadium, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo - Today was a good, offensive day. The pitching in todays game (especially the starting pitching) not so great, Valdez going 3+ letting up 5. And Takeda going 5 1/3 giving up 7. Sub-par, but what was better than par, was the offense. Both teams had excellent offensive days. 11 homeruns in total! 11! Tony Blanco had 2 of them, his 35th, and 36th, and Matt Murton blasted 3 today, his 7th, 8th, and 9th. 5 homeruns between the two of them, plus 2 by Tani, 2 by Kanemoto, 1 by Brazell, and one (the most important one) for Kodai Sakurai. Whose late inning pinch hitting performance once again, won the game for the Tigers.

Also in other news, Tigers GM, Jack Allen, brother has been in the hospital since yesterday, he is recovering from a hit-and-run accident in Nishinomiya. Hope you get better soon, Joe Allen.

- Takaharu Sonada.

"-And it seems he'll be fine now." The doctor said to me about my brother
"Jack, I've gotta go to your game today." My brother said
"Well, Joe, it isn't really 'my' game, rather the teams game, and the players" I stated
"Yeah, whatever, I'm still going"
We drove off to the stadium, and I hoped for a win.

Tigers blow out Dragons, 16-3

Image - Matt Murton
Image - Minoru Iwata

Nagoya Dome, Nagoya, Chubu - The Tigers destroyed The Dragons yesterday, 16-3. Tani blasted 4 homeruns! Two in one inning, one from the right side, and one from the left, in the same inning! He had 6 RBI's today. He is seriously looking like he could win rookie of the year this year. Iwata went the distance, going 9 strong, giving up 3 runs, and getting his 13th win. Edward Valdez, well, he didn't do as well, getting his 5th loss. We spoke to Tani about his performance today, he said "I actually can't believe that I hit 4 homeruns today. 4 homeruns, 6 RBI's. I'm very proud of myself, and of the team as well, Murton got 4 RBI's himself, a triple, and a double. That's pretty good too." We also asked him about the Rookie of the Year award, he commented "I don't know who's going to win, there are plenty of other rookies just as good as me."

Tani is a very nice, and humble guy.

- Takaharu Sonada.

My brother has been informed that he'll be in a cast for a while, and they recommend he doesn't fly, and I actually don't understand why.
But on the bright side, I'll be able to see my brother!

4. Kenta Kurihara - 3B (4-4, HR [14], 2 RBI, double)
5. Jeff Fiorentino - LF [Pitcher's spot] (2-4, 1 RBI, GDP, double)

Tigers lose to Carp, but Gain a Magic Number

Image - Giancarlo Alvarado
Image - Jeff Fiorentino

MAZDA Zoom-Zoom Stadium Hiroshima, Minami-ku, Hiroshima - The Tigers lost to the Carp yesterday, 7-2. It wasn't a very good game for Takeda, as he went only 5 innings, giving up 5 runs. Alvarado on the other hand went 7 strong, giving up only 2. Arai hit his 15th homerun today, along with going 3-3, we spoke to the veteran about his performance today, and new lineup spot, he stated "I was pleased with my performance today, and think that I'll fit nicely into the 7 spot in the lineup." We here at Nishinomya Sports agree Arai. And we think that you're more suited for the role of the 7th hitter. Tani has moved up to 5th, and Johjima to 6th. Hopefully this lineup change will help the Tigers in the future.
