Um, Craig Brazell bats lefty. I'm pretty sure that's Matt Murton.

Whoops.... I knew that..... I just assumed... and you know what happens when you assume "It makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'" Thanks for pointing that out. :)

Jack Allen talked to Takaharu Sonoda about this, Takaharu, and all of Nishinomiya Sports apologizes.

"Alright guys, we've got second. Now who's satisfied with second?" I said to the team
No one raised their hand, luckily.
We're a game behind the Dragons. And today, we're playing the 4th placed team, The Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
Hopefully we can get by without too much damage from their excellent center fielder, Norichika Aoki, he's a 5 tool player, and an excellent one at that.
"Okay men. Let's go out there and win this thing!"
I watched as all of the players rushed out on to the field.
"We're gonna win" I thought to myself.

April 11

Hanshin Tigers - 3
Tokyo Yakult Swallows - 12

Lineup:
1. Takashi Toritani - SS (2-5, HR [6], RBI)

Nishinomiya Sports
Tigers blown out by Swallows, 12-3

Koshien Stadium, Nishinomiya, Hyōgo - Today, the Tigers were blown out, a 12 - 3 loss for them. Yoshinori Sato, 20, was on fire today, letting up only 3 runs in 8 innings. Whereas Kubo, only went 2/3 of an inning allowing 5 runs. The Swallows started off with a bang, 5 runs in the first, 2 in the second, and 5 more in the third, thanks to D'Antona's grand slam in the third. Toritani, though, lead off the bottom of the first with a homerun, although nothing much happened after that.

In other news, it has been made official, with Keisuke Kanoh struggling (.183 average) Tani will take over as the starting right fielder. In his press conference, he spoke about the change. "It feels great to have a starting job, but I don't want to take anyone else's job away, hopefully [Kanoh] will come out of his slump soon!" Tani said.

And also I, Takaharu Sonoda, am deeply sorry to Matt Murton for the mistake I made in last weeks issue. Please, accept this apology.

- Takaharu Sonoda

Update time! :D

"Alright, today, we're trying to maintain first. We've got a one game lead on the Dragons, who we are playing. They're going to be tough, so everyone, bring your "A" game! And we'll win this thing!"
Everyone agreed with my statement, and as I went upstairs to my box, I overheard the owner talking to our manager, Akinobu Mayumi.
He said "Mayumi, we're doing well this year."
"Yes, we are doing quite well sir." Akinobu replied
"But I do have something to say to you."
"What is it sir?"
"Well, with the current money problems this team has, we're going to have to at least make it to the championship this year in we wish to stay here in Nishinomiya."
"What?! There's actually talk about moving the team? Why?!"
"We just don't have enough money, and we're in a large 25 year drought of winning the championship. Mayumi, you have to lead this team to the Japan series. We have to win."
"Sir, you have my word."
"Oh yes, and make sure not to tell anyone this. It surely would create bad media."
"Yes sir."
I was shocked that I wasn't informed about any of this. I quickly rushed up the stairs so they wouldn't know I was spying on them. We have to win this year. We have to.

Nishinomiya Sports
Tigers lose a close one
Image - Tony Blanco
Image - Edward Valdez

Nagoya Dome, Nagoya, Chubu - The Tigers lost a tough one today, to lose their sole possession of first place. That's right the Dragons and Tigers are now in a tie for first place in the Central League. In the first inning, on a mistake pitch, by Atsushi Nohmi, Tony Blanco hit a shot to center for a 3-run homerun, giving the Dragons an early advantage. He would eventually double in another run, and Wada would add 1 more to give them 5. Valdez was near perfect yesterday, he had 3 innings of no hit ball, only to have Matt Murton break it up in the 4th with a sharp liner back at him, which he couldn't handle. His only blunder was giving up a homerun to the struggling Craig Brazell. After he left in the 7th Takuya Asao came in. And he was greeted rudely. A leadoff double for Johjima, followed by a 2-run homer by Tani, to give the Tigers their 3 runs. But it didn't matter. In the 9th Hitoki Iwase came in to close it out, and he did so, with two men on, Arai lined into a double play to end the game, Dragons win it, 5 to 3.

All I have to say folks is that this year will be interesting, the Dragons and the Tigers will be fighting it out all year.

- Takaharu Sonoda

I like it! I like the way that you present it, with the GM first, and Takaharu Sonada's point of view as a sports writer, very creative. :D
