So isn't here actually an option to play as a AAA team in this game or are you just leading me on.

So, wait? Who the hell are the Archers? you may ask. They're who this log will actually be following, the Knights' second string [AAA] team, just formed. Ryu Azuma, our narrator, is the newly instated manager of the team. He's always been a big fan of the Knights and an even bigger one of Jack. Anyways! Update

"Oh, thank you."
My waitress put the coffee I had ordered in front of my books.
I should look these over before I settle on a lineup.

Archer's Roster - 2035

Catchers:

Ken Saitoh
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
24,1B/3B, L/R, 3, D, B, D, B, C, B
He's the only one with any NPB experience on the team. He broke his leg badly pretty late last season, so he should be with us for at least a month or so. It'll be good to have someone to help lead.

Tsuyoshi Tsukada
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
18, OF, L/R, 2, B, G, C, A, D, F
He just got drafted. I don't know much about the kid, but this is the report I got on him. He gets on base a lot, but has "never hit a homerun in his life."

First basemen:

Gingo Yokoi
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
21, N/A, L/L, 3, F, C, F, F, F, F
He's purely a power hitter. Plus, he's got a funny name, heheh.

Shinshou Yoshii
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
28, 3B, R/R, 2, F, F, A, F, A, C
He's getting up there in age. The only reason he's still down with the second stringers is because he can't hit for his life. Super nice guy, though.

Second basemen:

Hironori Nakagawa
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
17, SS, S/R, 2, D, D, B, C, D, E
He's the youngest on the team (by 2 days), but he's also one of the most promising. I'm sensing a long career for this kid. He was just drafted, and we don't really have any room for him in the lineup, unfortunately.

Saki Kawaguchi
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
25, SS/3B, R/R, 1, C, G, D, D, B, C
He's our backup infielder. That's all.

Third basemen:

Kaz Murata
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
22, SS, L/R, 3, B, C, B, C, D, C
He'll be in the NPB next year, without a doubt. Maybe even midway through this year. I don't know how the Knights will fit him in, though.

Moriaki Kawaguchi
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
20, 1B, R/R, 2, B, F, E, A, C, C
I can squeeze him in at first, thankfully. He's a valuable player to have in the lineup. I don't think I've ever heard him speak.

Shortstops:

Masayoshi Fujita
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
18, 2B, R/R, 3, D, C, A, A, C, B
I have no idea how, but... We got him as a package deal in a trade with Bears. They wanted to get rid of him for some reason... That worries me.

Satoshi Kura
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
18, 2B, R/R, 3, B, D, C, C, C, D
Taiga turned off his party lifestyle once he met the girl of his dreams, Yui Minamisawa, and they had a kid together in 2018. Satoshi is remarkably similar to his father, hell, if he didn't have glasses, they would look exactly the same. He was born before Taiga and Yui were married, and he gets teased for it a bit. He's a great kid to have in the clubhouse and is as motivated as can be.

Outfielders:

Taiga Shimizu - LF
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
17, SS, L/R, 2, A, F, B, C, C, C
Named after Taiga Kura, Shimizu is a great player in his own right. He lead his team to a Koshien win when he was only a sophomore and was drafted right then and there by the Knights. He's a little bratty, but underneath, he's a kind kid.

Takamichi Ishikawa – CF
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
19, OF/3B, L/R, 2, C, F, A, D, B, B
He’s one hell of a leadoff hitter. Gets fired up real easy. This'll be his second year, and I expect it to be his last. He and I have actually become good friends over the course of a year.

Kouhei Yoshimi – RF
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
19, OF, S/R, 2, B, E, B, A, C, B
His arm is unmatched (laser beam), and his ability to get on base and then steal the rest is nothing to spit at either. He, like Ishikawa, will probably be leaving us after this year. He's usually at the butt of Ishikawa's jokes.

Makoto Morimoto - CF
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
26, OF, L/L, 1, F, G, A, B, A, A
One of the worst hitters I've ever seen, but by god if he isn't an amazing fielder. He's our backup.

--

This is probably the best lineup I can have

W/ DH

1. Takumichi Ishikawa - CF
2. Kouhei Yoshimi - RF
3. Masayoshi Fujita - 2B
4. Ken Saitoh - C
5. Kaz Murata - 3B
6. Satoshi Kura - SS
7. Gingo Yokoi - DH
8. Taiga Shimizu - LF
9. Moriaki Kawaguchi - 1B

W/O DH

1. Takumichi Ishikawa - CF
2. Kouhei Yoshimi - RF

Pitchers

Starters:

Michinori Kondo
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
22, R/R, 150 km/h (93 mph), A, B, curveball - 3, forkball - 2
A virtuoso off the field, Kondo spends his off days practicing violin. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a mid-season call up.

Futoshi Oyokawa
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
20, L/L, 149 km/h (93 mph), F, B, slider - 4, cutter - 2
He decided in his junior year of college that he wanted to pursue a professional career. He’s an incredibly hard worker.

Genta Kojima
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
19, R/R, 157 km/h (98 mp), G, A, changeup - 2
He’s got an explosive fastball and… that’s about it. He’s a fan of being very verbose.

Tai Naga
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
18, L/R, 148 km/h (92 mph), A, C, curveball - 1, changeup - 1, forkball - 1, slider - 1, shuuto - 2
He throws an insane amount of pitches, but none of them are all that great. He’s a typical “Jack-of-all-trades, master of none.”

Iwato Oyanagi
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
19, R/R, 139 km/h (86 mph), B, C, slider - 3, knuckleball - 5
A rare knuckleballer. His is decent. He’s got a lot of time to work on it, though.

Relievers:

Masayuki Iwada
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
25, R/R, 140 km/h (87 mph), A, E, slurve - 3, knucklecurve - 2
He acts as the mentor, and also as one of our set-up guys. Wise beyond his years.

Minao Takei
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
23, L/L, 155 km/h (96 mph), D, F, slider - 4, forkball - 2
He’s our lefty-specialist.

Atsuto Mutou
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
19, R/R, 154 km/h (96 mph), F, F, knucklecurve - 3, palmball - 3
He doesn’t have great control, and can only pitch about an inning or so, but his stoic expression strikes fear into the opposing team.

Sachiya Yoshioka
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
18, R/R, 147 km/h (91 mph), C, E, forkball - 6
He can only throw a forkball, but his fastball’s decent. This kid’s got a lot of potential.

Genya Usui
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
24, L/R, 152 km/h (94 mph), B, F, changeup - 3, curveball - 4
He may be incredibly generic, but he’s a solid set-up man

Closer:

Kinichi Yamamoto
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
18, R/R, 162 km/h (101 mph), G, F, changeup - 1, slider - 2
He’s got one of the best fastball’s I’ve ever seen. It does this weird spin… A “gyroball,” I think. He’s wild, though. I can’t believe he’s coming straight out of highschool!

This’ll have to do…

Rotation:

1. Michinori Kondo
2. Futoshi Oyokawa
3. Genta Kojima
4. Tai Naga
5. Iwato Oyanagi

Fifty minutes. That’s it. ...I should’ve already worn out all these nerves last year. Gah! Okay. Fifty minutes. That’s all. New season, new players. We can do this, Ryu. We can do this! Archers, Archers, ARCHERS. OKAY, WE GOOD.

I opened the door into the locker room.
“Alright boys,” I stood in front of the whiteboard, “game one is upon us, and it’s a big one. The Ronin are no pushovers. Let’s go over some key players before we get started.”

I popped open the red marker, and got to writing.

Mito Ronin - Sakai Samurais’ Second String Affiliate

Takurou Sakakihara - CF
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
19, OF, R/R, 3, C, D, B, B, B, E
While he’s primarily known for his glovework, Sakakihara is a very efficient leadoff hitter and he’s an even better basestealer. The Samurai are rumored to be looking to make a trade to make some room for him on their roster.

Tomo Kokura - 1B
AGE, 2ND POSTION, B/T, TRJ, CON, POW, RUN, ARM, FLD, E RES
22, N/A, L/L, 4, D, A, D, F, F, F
He’s the best hitter in the league. He struggles with lefties, so we’ll have to be conscious of that.

Toyokazu Ohara - SP
AGE, B/T, TOP SPD, CON, STAM, PITCHES
19, L/L, 157 km/h (98 mph), D, B, slider - 4, changeup - 3
His explosive fastball isn’t his only weapon. His slider cuts in late on lefties, and the jarring difference in speed between his fastball and changeup help him rack up the strikeouts. I’m actually not even sure why he’s not on the NPB club yet.

--

“Let’s have another great season everyone!”
Everyone was shouting as they ran out of the locker room into the dugout and onto the field

We can do this. I reassured myself before taking my spot in the dugout.

“Well… That was a rough loss.”
I was disappointed, to say the least. We were so close until the end… I should’ve kept Kondo in… But he was at 127 pitches… Ughh.
“We’ve got tomorrow.” Ishikawa stood up and faced the rest of the team, while I stood in the corner stuck in my thoughts, “we can’t lose faith because of one game! The season’s young. We’re young. We can bounce back. This is nothing, guys. The Ronin are a damn good team… But we’re even better. Right?!”
Kura rocketed out of his seat, knocking it over “Hell yeah we are!”
“Yeah.” I gained some of my composure, “Yeah! Let’s go out and get them tomorrow!”

A ronin is a roaming Samurai with no lord. They just wandered Japan, taking odd jobs

get it

You definitely should have kept Ohara in, I agree, although that would be hard given how he had already thrown 9 innings for the opposing team.
