On to the next player I'm helping AOW complete on his project, Jon Jay of the Cardinals. Now, I'm in no means familiar with this player, and haven't seen him often enough to compile a good enough scouting report, but I'll try to do my best to make an accurate representation of him. Roughly, from looking at his stats, I have in mind this:

TRJ: 2
CON: D 9 - C 10
PWR: Low-Mid E
RUN: C
ARM: E 7 - D 8
FLD: C (I did look at UZR and DRS, and they didn't look good, but this is just a guess)
E-RES: C 11 - B 12

I'll need a little more advice on his abilities (PPJ? AOW? Rob?) before I can really settle on raw abilities and special abilities for him, but that's what I have, and I await helpful responses.

So Jon Jay is a decent OFer, but not a starter on most clubs.

CON - .295 career BA, his best skill arguably, pretty solid 10 by Aaronator's scale - but again, hit 9 and then wait in case blues make a difference.
PWR - yeah E land here. His career high is 10, which borders on D, but that hasn't been repeated. So I'd be hitting 98-105 maybe?
Speed - 62% steal success rate. His 19 was kind of an outlier...I think he's a safe 10, but AVOID base stealing 4 like the dickens. Career high of 27 doubles, 4 triples...you could push for 11 but I would keep him at 10 I think, aggressive runner is fine tho.

Based on that I go with:
Arm E (6-7)
FLD D (8-9)
E RES C/B (11-12)

Good pinch hitter works, his OPS is a lot better as a sub than as a starter (.788 to .753)
No clutch-worthy stuff really, IMO
One remarkable thing is that, despite being a lefty batter, he hits lefties pretty well. So Vs Lefty 4 is fine to get IMO

I would make him a CF'er first, then LF and RF

That's all I got I think. He's like a serviceable 4th OFer, maybe a pinch running upgrade, but he's started too much in STL from what I can see.

Gold glover? Maybe

I'm not thinking about Gold Glover. I'd think, to even consider whether or not someone should get Gold Glover, someone should've actually won the award first. Then, discuss the merits of how he won that award. Was it just because of his bat, or were there actual good defensive metrics to back that up on a defensive angle?

So, in a roundabout way, I'm staying away from Gold Glover.

I had similar stats only I also had Gd Bunt and aggressive run

Everyone else pretty much covered it, though I would also recommend getting Spray Hitter for him.

He's definitely a spray hitter, and anything over D for fielding is too high

So, from what I see, the ability list should go a little like this:

Vs. LH 4 (Still debating this, his splits don't really scream this to me, but maybe as a last-minute ability)
Gd Pinch Hitter
Gd Bunt
Spray Hitter
Aggressive Run

yeah the Vs Lefty 4 is just one of those "don't reload if you get it" abilities, really...its not mandatory, but it is surprising that Jay hits so well against lefties. A lot of lefty pitchers are going to have Vs Lefty 4, so Jay having it kind of neutralizes it.

OK, Jay is perfectly done, but I screwed up the birth year (again). Apparently age 23 and a 3/15 birth date equals 1984 in their book, and not 1985 (someone please explain to me the mechanics of this god-forsaken thing before I derp up another player like this). Either way, here he is:
