so just to consolidate it here, I had:

Jordan Zimmermann - Nationals, righty SP, FB top speed 98, SLD 2, CB1, CCHG 1

AgentP had:
96/C/B/cb 3/slv 2/Groundball P/Recovery 4/wRISP 4

His walk rate is exceedingly low compared to other starters I've done (1.89 BB/9 career) so B control is fine.

Stamina shouldn't be too high - career average is under 6.1 IP per start, only 7 career CGs in 138 starts. A stamina would be right out. So whatever gets you to 6.1 innings - that's a solid B, but not far into B range IMO.

He also allows very few homeruns (0.82 HR/9 career), so anything like spin 4 or fastball life 4 seem OK to me. He should have a blue or three to emphasize his good-ness. We can look at scouting reports to see which blue(s) fit best. From what I see, he throws the fastball around 66% of the time - you don't do that without having it be decent, so some movement or spin on it seems doable.

He allows a decent amount of SBs - not so many to earn him Release 2, but please avoid Release 4.

Groundball rate sits at 43% lifetime...that's decent, but I typically do 46%+ as GB pitchers.

Here's the important piece: lefties hit him better, standard for a righty. so the most important ability to AVOID is Vs. Lefty 4. Seriously - there are some AAA games where you face almost entirely lefties (MonMonMonkeys, and then the GalaxySharks) and by that time, just ONE lefty bunting into an out will earn you Vs Lefty 4. So to be accurate, you'll have to get scouting over the hump separately, and then walk or bean-ball the lefties you face in those games to avoid the ability.

It's a pain, but I've done it twice now (once with a lefty, which was crazy).

K, so I just spent the last 3 hours on finishing Zimermann and trying not to get VL4. I S/L'ed from 7:30 to 9:30 on ONE game vs. The MonMonMonkeys and could not stay away from VL4. One lefty always ended up getting out. I tried walking all the lefties, but someone would swing at a ball and end up grounding out. The game just wouldn't have me not get VL4. But I finished, with VL4, 98 BB 3DCB 3SLV 1CCHG.

Sorry I ended up w/ VL4 Alloutwar. I just cannot stay away from it.

You should have been using that slurve to hit lefties in the foot! Think, Zero! :P

I usually keep my coach eval low enough to avoid playing AAA altogether, unless I'm trying to make a really good pitcher (which Zimmerman is, so if I was making him I probably wouldn't do that anyway).
