Posting:

* Individual players should be in their own thread, with the full name of the player and position(s) in the title. Don't add superlatives or any other shout outs to it... we will see your guys...
* If you post a team or a set of players, add players by editing your starting post so they're all in the same post. A bump to announce the edit is appropriate.
* Posting images are fine, provided they are small in dimension and data. 800x600 and ~50Kb should be the biggest you can post inline (using the [IMG] tag), anything larger, post a link or a clickable thumbnail instead.
* If you have wiki rights, add your player(s) and team(s) there as well!

ok - get top speed up to 92-94 somewhere. Get a good glove or glove waxes at the end (or gamble).

Stamina and control dont need to be that high - definitely leave them where they are

He needs a good curveball (2 or 3), thats his best pitch according to FanGraphs. if you are able, add a level-1 change at the end.

His slider isnt used much (hasnt thrown it yet this year according to fangraphs), so I don't think its a lvl-3 pitch.

Really?? i was on a site that said that he didn't have a curveball or change, and that he liked to use his slider.

Hey man - nice job. A few suggestions:

1) since the game begins in 2008, make them the age they were at that time. Robertson is 25 now, but in March 2008 he was 23. Giving him that age helps, becuase then he has more time to develop, and is realistic in 2009-10.

2) Spec out the players before going into Success, so you know what your aiming at. I usually post the guy I'm going for, then finish them 1-3 days later. People used to be really active on here giving ideas and thoughts - not so much any more.

Some good sites to try are
http://www.wikipedia.org - usually just has date of birth, team, and general info, but sometimes has scouting and pitch info.
http://www.baseball-reference.com - major and minor league stats. Tell what position a guy played in the minors, so you know where he could play (like Casey McGehee played catcher for years in the minors).
http://www.fangraphs.com - they have a tab for Pitches that shows the pitch types a pitcher throws, and the % of the time, as well as the speed. Robertson throws a fastball that averages 91 over the last 3 seasons - meaning he can go higher (93-94). Fangraphs also does Fielding skills well, so you know how good a player is at something.

After that I just use Google and try to find a scouting report. Usually someone has one, saying what the player is good or bad at.

There are a few pages in this forum (i recently bumped both) that list a lot of 2008/2009 players and estimated stats. Those are a great reference too.

3) If in doubt, go low on abilities. Most of the guys that made an impact in 2008 are already in the game - we're making prospects, extra guys that were called up since and made minor impact. Making a guy too good will get him called up too early in 2008, and make him dominant much earlier in the game that he was in real life.

Keep up the good work man!

There is another website for pitchers called: http://junkball.org/players/ It doesn't have all the pitchers but it should have the major ones. It also has pitch fx data.
