I recently created him. I gave him B power since he's told to be one of the best slugging prospects around right now. He has D (9) contact, along with low D fielding and arm strength. He has E run speed, which is pretty low. He also has C Error Resistance. Lars has the abilities Contact Hitter, Table Settler, Hot Hitter, and Firstball Hitter (curse me, he's really patient at the plate though), along with Tough Runner and Agressive Fielding and Baserunning. He was made for Alloutwar's project, but I don't know if he'll have use for him or not. Oh, he has four trajectory, but he hits tons to the warning track in the games I've seen him play, which is why he has it.

Yay :D . I made a Lar Anderson, but just for fun I gave him C contact and A power and 4 trajectory. But I knew that if I put him on the roster anywhere then he'd probably replace Youkilis so I didn't put him on my roster...

The funny thing is he's going to replace Youk at first. Youk will be moved to third, lol.

Good deal, Dr K. I'll definitely throw him in. People can always register him after the first season, put him on the Sox for 2009 like he is now. In 08 he wouldnt be called up - Bailey, Moss or Van Every would get that playing time so he could develop.

Lars didnt see any playing time in 08, but Michael Bowden only got one start - if that, i think? - and I want to throw him in. But mainly the reasoning is depth -the Sox have so much depth, really all the teams to.

Other games, like Baseball Mogul, give you deep rosters and let you manage a team with an eye to 5 years in the future; this game doesnt. The stars remain stars, and the prospects dont delveop unless they;re on your team and you;re super-training. So I'm trying to coutneract that by providing some decent prospects. Jeff Clement is a great hitter the Mariners called up, but he;s not in here; so if any Mariners fans want to take him on, that would rock.

I could probably make Clement. Along the lines of F-E contact, C-B power, 3 trj, slugger, and a few abilites maybe

I just meant how people can specifically assign their players to train certain aspects, and then buy items in Season Mode that make this training progress faster. This means that, with a few items, and maybe a good friendship rating, a player can start increasing their skills rather fast.

In Success Mode, there's also a super boost on the 4th week of every month if you practice; but that wasn't what I was referring to.

FYI - that 4 trajectory is awesome. I just used Anderson for the Home Run Derby, and beat my old total - got like 24 consecutive homers with him in Fenway. Nice!!

It's about licensing. I don't know how Mogul has access to Major Leaguers, but most video games only have access to players who are major leaguers, and it is illegal to use use minor-leaguers unless they negotiate with them privately. Also, Mogul is very, very inaccurate. I'd try Strat-O-Matic if you want a game like that. It's the most accurate thing out there.

I've been playing Mogul for quite a while - the sim leaves some things to be desired, but it's good enough. They also have local users creatnig mods, including full, deep rosters, player pictures, etc. It's a good time. and if you have 4 or 5 injuries, there are plenty of players to take those spots - something MLBPP is lacking (although it has a lot of strengths that BBM doesn't).

Out of the Park is the only thing I know of that comes close, and trying to get through the menus to actually play that game is harder than doing constant Pivot tables in Excel.

Strat O matic uses dice and all that, right? I want something I can tuck away into a laptop or pocket PC...Baseball mogul runs light and small.

Yeah strat-o-matic uses die and cards and stuff. I personally love MLB Showdown but it's discontinued so I have to make my own cards now...

Very well done, although I know he's a power hitter, at only 20 or 21, I wouldn't giv e him 149 and 4 trajectory.... To me when making a power hitter prospect, always make it lower than what you original think, like my Jay Bruce and Matt Joyce, huge power hitters but I only gave them low B instead of what at first was thinking 140. That's just me.

Well done but I personally prefer mine.
