MLB creates two new Franchises
April 1, 2008

My name is Jeff Hall and I'm 36 years old. I used to be a player but my career ended before it even got started.
I injured my shoulder in triple a for the nationals throwing a fastball. Now after floundering around the league I
am back. I was hired because of my experience in the minors. (only 3 seasons) I look at this team
and see lots of potential all-stars yet we still need lots of work.

I was told we needed to win at least 80 games to be considered good. Even though we were projected to finish 63-99.
We have to do our best and listen to our owner motto "It's all sunshine and rainbows until someone blows out an elbow".
I always cringe at that last part. So here's our line-up for the season

Sunshines
Bill Schoening CF 3 E/E/E/E/D/E
Matt Whiteman SS 2 F/E/D/D/D/E
Brian Oliver 3B 3 E/C/E/D/E/E
Dan Grindell DH 3 G/B/F/E/E/F
Scott Estrella C 2 F/D/E/D/D/D
Ed Pote 1B 2 G/D/F/E/F/D
Jim Saipe 2B 2 E/F/F/G/E/E
Justin Pedroia LF 2 F/F/E/E/F/E/
Alex Inglett RF 2 F/E/E/E/E/F

Bench
Riley Menacha C 1 E/F/F/D/D/E
Tony Stark CF 2 E/F/E/E/E/F
Mike Melendez SS 2 F/F/E/E/E/F
Ben Vosberg 2B 2 F/F/F/F/D/E
Ryan Finegan 3B 3 F/D/F/E/F/E
George Knox RF 2 F/F/F/E/F/F

Our hitting looks weak but our pitching I am not really sure of.

Pitching Staff
LHP Mo Bailey 90 E/C
RHP Corey Dirosa 91 D/C
RHP Freddy Condrey 89 D/C
RHP Zac Crabtree 88 E/C
RHP James Moss 89 D/C

Bullpen
SM Vince Senreiso 89 E/C
LR Hal Szuminski 91 F/C
MR Phil Dransfeldt 89 E/C
SL Chad Brunet 88 F/C
MM William Sears 92 E/C
CL Dennis Larson 93 D/C

Agents are available for whoever wants them

I could tell we needed help so I called in a favor to an old friend of mine. His name was Brian Davis he was my pitching coach when I pitched in the minors.

Brian: Hello?
Me: Hey Brian how you been?
Brian: I'm good Jeff still sticking to the bean pole you call an arm.
Me: nice one but listen I need you to be my pitching coach we need major help in that department.
Brian: I don't know you might have to convince me Jeff.
Me: Come on Brian what do I have to prove to you?
Brian: show me that you mean business unlike what happened when you blew out your shoulder.
Me: Alright fine Thank you for agreeing to become our pitching coach.
Brian: See on the field man.

I put my hand on my left shoulder wincing in pain. It had been three years since the injury.
August 12, 2005

I had been brought up to the majors by the nationals. They were dire need of a lefty. The first guy I faced was Khalil Greene. I ran the count full then struck him out. Then after I finished the inning I got cocky. Thinking this isn't hard. The score was tied at 3 in the top of the eighth I was due up in the bottom half so I knew this would be it for me. I allowed a hit to Loretta to leaf off the inning and then Ryan Klesko stepped in I was ahead 1-2. Then I made the biggest mistake of my career. I over exerted my arm and the rotator cuff ripped open. I got the strike out with a fastball at 96 but it wasn't worth ending my career over. After that day I retired because I knew I needed Tommy John surgery and felt like I wouldn't pitch again.

Free Agent Acquisitions in Hawaii

April 2, 2008

The Hawaii Sunshines Signed 1B Dan Johnson and Reliever Enrique Gonzalez to one year deals
Jeff Hall issued this statement regarding the signings "I believe we need a veteran presence around the clubhouse early so that
we can establish a good team chemistry which will hopefully help us win ballgames". Dan Johnson, the 28 year-old infielder hit .236 and hit 18 homers and drove in 62 for the Oakland A's this past season. Enrique Gonzalez is a starter turned reliever in 2006 he went 3-7 with a 5.67 ERA. Yet we hope that these acquisitions can help us in the long run.
