Honestly, you should get rid of Contreras. In my opinion, he is the worst starter in the game

Which one of my insiders told you about our plan? Yeah, he was good when they won it all in 2005, but he really dropped.

The team that I once worked for came to town. I was hoping Billy Beane traveled with the team for once, but he didn't.

Oakland Athletics 39-47 @ Chicago White Sox 42-45

Right away, Sox legend Frank Thomas hit an RBI double. 2005 World Series MVP Jermaine Dye brought Thomas in. AJ Pierzynski drove in a run in the third, and cut the deficit to 1. The White Sox took the lead in the fourth on a two-run homer by Viciedo, his first career home run. The lead wouldn't stay, as the A's took a 4-3 lead in the 7th. The A's had a chance for a double play to end the game, but the shortstop made an error, allowing the tying run to score. Daiki grounded into a double play, but the damage was done. Jim Thome finished the game off with a walk-off homer to right in the 11th, giving us a 5-4 win.

W- Linebrink 3-2
L- Street 2-1
HR- Thome 18
Viciedo 1

Hirayama 3-4
Cabrera 0-4
Swisher 0-5
Konerko 4-5
Thome 1-5, HR, RBI
Viciedo 3-4, HR, 2 RBI
Pierzynski 2-4, RBI
Crede 0-4
Uribe 0-4
Danks 6.1 IP, 13 H, 2 K, 4 ER
Masset 4 IP, 2 H, 4 K, 0 ER
Linebrink 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 K, 0 ER

thinking about trading for any prospects, GoTwins? like Contreras for Homer Bailey for the rotation, maybe.

Just tried that trade in season mode (On July 15th, so rookie status doesn't affect trade and for same perspective as GoTwins). For me, it's a 5 star trade.

But I also created this trade:
White Sox give:
Contreras
Linebrink

Reds give:
G. Paulino (Homer Bailey)
Dunn
Arroyo

It's a 2 star trade but if you remove Linebrink and Dunn then it becomes a 3 star trade.

That's a good idea Philliesfan and jag. Would you guys be interested in being co-trade advisors?

if you have any ideas, let me know and I'll try to think of one! I'd be on the look out for guys like joba, hughes, zimmerman, upton, ellsbury, king felix, alex gordon, etc. depends on how you wanna construct your roster but those are younger stars worth considering.

I guess I could help out haha, and King Felix is one of the hardest players to trade for in the game. You'd have to give up a lot of talent or money. I think the players that can turn into all-stars when you start them are: Jose Bautista, Chris Young, Jonny Gomes, John Buck, and believe it or not, Jarrod Saltalamacchia. I know their skills and abilities, on paper, look average (or below average) , but they end up doing really well (especially Jonny Gomes).
If you're looking to build up your bullpen without giving up a lot, look for Brandon League (some times will do well), Papelbon, Guerrier, and Baez.
It's your log, GoTwins, so it's your decisions.

Sorry for double posting, but I think it'd be cool to get a reunion with Scott Podsednik

With recent trade rumors, Jose Contreras had one last start to redeem himself. He faced the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

Later thta inning, Viciedo and Pierzynski both hit RBI doubles, giving Chicago a 5-0 lead. Orlando Cabrera hit his second homer of the game in the 7th. Dayan Viciedo hit a deep homer to left in the 8th, giving the Sox a 7-0 lead. Later in that inning, Joe Crede drove in a run with a single. Jose Contreras finished off the game, throwing a complete game shutout.

W- Contreras 7-7
L- Mendoza 2-2
HR- Cabrera 5,6
Viciedo 2

Hirayama 3-5, 2 RBI

Konerko 1-4
Thome 0-4
Viciedo 2-4, HR, 2 RBI

Today I offered a trade to Cincinnati. We would get Bronson Arroyo, Johnny Cueto, and Great Paulino, and Cincy would get Jose Contreras, Boone Logan, and Scott Linebrink. They would also give 1,000 points.

I like, I like. And you got the most out of Contreras before he left(maybe?).

Reds GM: Matt, I decline the trade. We are not willing to get ride of Cueto right now. Take him out of the deal and we accept.

Me: C'mon, man! This is a great deal! Hell, I'll throw in extra points. I need Cueto.

Reds GM: No. We only have a deal without Cueto.

Me: Think about this one then. I give you Contreras, Linebrink, and Jimerson. You give me Arroyo, Paulino, Cueto, and 1,000 points.

Reds GM: I'll contact my advisors. If we decline the trade again, we won't trade with you for the rest of the year.
