I had an idea, PS2, for a season mode run. Dream Draft, but only 4 non Expansion MLB players allowed, plus some Success players.

The 3 of the 4 real players I was considering were Felix Hernandez, Delmon Young and Ryan Zimmerman. I plan to create or import 4 Success Mode players, one of which is a 92/D/B SP with FORK 4, SIFB 3, Poise 4, Good Small Ball, Good Morale named Shawn Price. RF, 2B, C and CF tend to be on the weak side in 08 Expansion players, so those positions would be the others I would make. Since 3B tends to have the best hitters on Expansion teams, a 2nd drafted 3B would be the DH, unless there are 2 decent hitting 1Bs this time.

Any idea for the 4th MLB player? Looking for young, decent but inexpensive salary wise. Probably an RP or C

hmm, Lincecum or Jimenez are nice for SP, but I guess Chamberlain would work at RP. For C, I'd say McCann or Soto.

McCann or Soto would work, and Chamberlain is a good idea, too. Now instead of one stand out, there are too many :P

Currently working on the 2B in Success Mode. S/L Brad Doty, already got Dr. Goodjob to show up before the first game I made the lineup, did the resistance to injuries treatment and earned Durability 4 and Tough Out (though the latter may have happened elsewhere, I know I didn't pay for it.)

A left handed secondbaseman?

You should probably go with getting stronger from good job, unless you're playing it safe

I think he was talking about save/loading.

No, we was right, a switch hitting lefty 2B. A little unconventional, I know, but it's what I wanted to do, especially because of who the player is based on (Drew Doughty of the LA Kings, who was famously misnamed as Brad Doty on an LA News station.)

Doty ends up 3/D8/E91/C11/C10/C11/C11, Hot Hitter, Tough Out, Good B2B Hitter, Durability 4, HD 1st Slide. No hot or cold hitting zones.

And the RF for the yet to be named team:

Toby Edwards R/R 3/D8/C123/C11/B12/C11/C11
Contact Hitter, Hot Hitter, Error Prone, Good Morale

Part that ticked me off was the final screen gamble for Clutch Hit 4, 93% success rate, fails.

I'm thinking of either the Columbus Knights or Green Bay Ice Wolves for the team name.

A quick edit: I misstated Shawn Price's pitches, he has 2SEAM 1, SIFB 3, FORK 3.

I'll be interested to hear how he does when he has to come in for a slow grounder and throw to 1st without changing direction

I think Martin (something like DBECCC) from the dodgers is a great young catcher, but McCann has that "good catcher" ability.

One of my favorite relievers is Andrew Brown from the A's. I think he's in his late 20's

Yeah, I'm still trying to decide between Chaimberlain and McCann. Whichever one I pick I create the other position.

Chapter One - Franchising of a Frozen Lobo

Green Bay is getting an MLB franchise, along with Vancouver, BC. The MLB, in an effort to build parity and sabotage the new Green Bay franchise, has run a league wide dispersal draft, allowing 31 teams to pick 33 players each from among MLB and some promising non MLB players. Green Bay has been allowed only 1 pick in each of the first 4 rounds to select MLB players. In the other 29 rounds, they will be selecting non-MLB AAA players (expansion players). They do have a special exemption to sign 4 top college players.

With their 4 MLB picks, they selected: 1st - Felix Hernandez, 2nd - Brian McCann, 3rd - Ryan Zimmerman, 4th - Delmon Young. Among the other picks were a few promising prospects, but mostly filler.

The top college players, all coming off stellar Freshman years, were SP Shawn Price (72), RP Leonard "Red" Smith (91), RF Toby Edwards (19) and 2B Brad Doty (8).

Price, Smith and Edwards, all friends since Little League, played for the same High School team, though went to 3 different colleges, are all related to friends of the team's owner. Doty, who played for a rival High School, is highly talented.

Price throws a 2 seamer (1), Sinking Fastball (3) and a Forkball (3). Smith, a lefty, throws a wide array of pitches: Cutter, Drop Curve, Circle Change (all 2), and his specialty: the Redball (Original Sinking Fastball with more edge, 4).

Full roster will be posted in the next update.
