I have decided to join in on the fun, and start my own season mode franchise log. As you can see from the title, I am doing the Kansas City Royals. I have not edited any players, and I have not changed any of the rosters. Alrighty, here we go. :D

Royals Sign Nomo, Ruggiano
Just six days prior to their start of the season, the Royals have signed two players who were free agents. They have signed right-handed pitcher Hideo Nomo, 39, to a one-year, six-hundred point contract, as well as outfielder Justin Ruggiano, 25, to a one-year, 390 point contract. Both players have reported to triple-A Omaha.

Opening Day 2008


Detroit -- The Royals have dropped the first game of the 2008 season in an extra innings thriller. After carrying a perfect game into the fifth, the Royals finally broke through against Dontrelle Willis, scoring the first run of the game in the seventh on an RBI base hit by Billy Butler. The Tigers then tied it up in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run off the bat of Curtis Granderson into the right field bleachers. This game would remain a tie until the fifteenth inning when Jacques Jones, with runners on the corners, lifted one to center field, bringing home the game's winning run with a sacrifice fly.

Minneapolis -- The Royals have lost game two of this series against the Twins after winning the opening game. Carlos Gomez hit an RBI single in the third inning to bring home the game's first run. Jason Kubel then added with a two-run homer in the fourth, and Delmon Young with a solo shot in the seventh. The Royals' only run of the game came in the eighth inning with an RBI double off the bat of Ross Gload as the Royals lose and drop back down to three games under .500.
