Willis should be banned from this game. The delivery is so stupid, it works.

Its his ability "Good Delivery" that makes him hard to hit, not his delivery.

Kansas City Royals (6-11) @ Oakland Athletics (7-11)
April 19, 2008

OAKLAND -- The Royals' struggles continued today in Oakland, taking a tough luck loss. Both of the Royals' runs were thanks to Jose Guilllen who hit an RBI single in the first for the game's first run. Frank Thomas also had a big day, starting off with an RBI single in the fourth. This game would go into extra innings, and in the top of the twelfth, Jose Guillen broke the tie with a monster shot to left to give the Royals a one-run lead. Unfortunately for the Royals, the Athletics fought back in the bottom of the inning. Eric Chavez led off the inning with a double that hit off the top of the right field wall and almost left the yard, but Frank Thomas took care of that, crushing a walk-off two-run homer to center to give the Athletics the win.

April 22, 2008

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals have won tonight in epic fashion, defeating the Indians in game one of this series at home. In the bottom of the first inning, Mark Grudzielanek belted his first homer of the season, a solo shot to left-center. All three base runners would score before DeJesus was thrown out at third trying to turn it into a triple, ending the inning. Grady Sizemore smashed his second homer of the game in the eighth, a two-run shot to bring the game within one run. Soria came in in the ninth to close it out, but gave up a game-tying lead off home run to Travis Hafner. Grudzielanek is very pleased to hit his first homerun on the season.

April in Review

The Royals did not get off to the best start ever. They have won just ten games since the start of the season, and have lost seventeen, landing themselves in last place in the American League central, seven and a half games back of the first place Tigers who beat them in extra innings on opening day. While their record is not good, they are not the worst team in the American League. The only two teams worse than than them are the Oakland Athletics with a record of 10-19, and the Texas Rangers with a record of 8-20. And the worst record in the majors goes to the Washington Nationals, who currently stand at 5-23, thirteen and a half games back of the first place Mets in the National League central. Division leaders include the Braves in the East, the Astros in the Central, and the Dodgers in the West for the National League. And the leaders in the American League are the Red Sox in the East, the Tigers in the Central, and the Mariners in the West. It is only the first month of the season, and there is still plenty of baseball to be played.

Does anyone know what I can do to raise my players' batting averages for the games I skip, because I don't think it's very realistic having an entire lineup batting under .250, and most of them batting under .200.
