I don't have much confidence in Edwar after last year, and don't think he fits the "profile." That said I think he should always be paired with Farnsworth. The contrast between their pitching is sooooo huge that it would give hitters trouble. Britton isn't used for the same reason E-Ram isn't, they don't have the high-90's fastball most set-up men do. They should still get a chance, though. Can't wait for Cox and Melancon or McCutchen.

I don't care how good he is, I'll never cheer the injury of another player. Big Papi, as much of a pain in the Yanks side as he is, is a relatively nice guy and a person anyway lol. The only exception may be Beckett, but thats because hes just too good and I don't like him as a person or player.

So disappointed... Both Joba and Edwar downed in one night. At least Britton got an inning in there though...

Oops, should'be been BIG Papi, oh well.
I wasn't cheering on the injury it was big news so I made it seem important.

I say, make a big trade for some young closer like Street or something.

Yo, it seems to me that even though the Rays are doing well this season, it doesn't look like they are a match for Boston.

You can't base that on two games, they've won one more then they lost to them.

A WALK OFF, PINCH HIT, 2-RUN HOME RUN IN THE 9TH BY JASON GIAMBI! The Yanks win it 9-8! What a game!
What's that worth, 600 points in Power Pros!?
Haha, the Yanks momentum continues.
And its no problem mate.

My brother and I were going over the best possible scenarios during the 9th. Right before he hit I was mentioning how picture perfect it would be for him to get a pinch hit walk off home run. When I started chanting it during Giambi's at bat he started groaning. He thought I would jinx it because I also yelled home run several times during the play Damon hit a long one.

Haha, well if you had anything to do with it, thanks. Last nights loss was depressing and might have had a lot to do with that terrible call on Giambi. I've never seen Giambi argue with an ump before and he's already done it 5-6 times. So many bad calls for him.
Nice game right now. The yanks are finally starting to hit and get those epic comebacks. While a 4-th inning 6 run come-back isn't quite epic, it's certainly very nice and it's like the Yankees used to be last year. Why do they always torture the fans with their terrible start and then manage to come back and take the play-offs. I mean they start playing well whenever I'm away or on vacation and I miss the whole thing but when I watch their terrible.
By the way,Betimit just missed another homerun. He's been great since he came back off the D.L.

How about that Johnny Damon guy?

6 for freaking 6 with a walk-off hit.

Just like that, he's among AL leaders in AVG.

Any of you catch Joba's latest start? He looks pretty solid now. I was a bit disappointed they didn't let him go into the seventh but it's a national league game after all. Besides, Veras was amazing. He's really turning things around. Joba threw 5 different pitches today which makes me wonder why people keep saying he's a four pitch man. He threw that two seamer even more than he threw the curve or changeup...

And wow... to let Farnsworth close. Girardi puts far too much faith into him imo... but whatever works!

The Yankees win tonight and it'll pretty much be the first time we're 3 games over .500 all season. Good luck to Mussina!

It WILL be the first time they get 3 wins over 500. Looking at the box score and the type of pitching, I would have never guessed it was Joba. Ground-outs and double-plays galore with only 1 strikeout and a few fly balls (well more then a few). ONE strikeout. WOW. Still, that's not what matters. If anything its good that hes calming down and accepting just a regular ground out or double play rather then the big strike-out. A little more wouldn't hurt, but hey, who can argue with results? 1 run in 6 innings with 89 pitches should be good enough for anyone.

Mussina can still tie the lead for wins in the AL tonight. He should be tied already. He had a total of 10 wins last year in the regular season and he's already going to match that before the all-star break.
